The style of this storefront
was out of date even when I first saw it in the mid-1970s. Brooklyn
Heights was sleepier then. Upstairs a small recording studio was available
for musicians of small means. We lived down the street. The butcher
shop closed a few years later, replaced by a succession of upscale stores.
An upscale real estate firm occupies this corner now.
